HuDMOP™ is IONTOX’s Microphysiological System (MPS). HuDMOP™ uses human tissues representative of specific organs cultured in a mesoscale plate. Multiple organs represented by 2D or 3D models are connected to one another via a simulated blood system, and each organ compartment contains growth media optimal for that particular tissue or cell type. There is NO net exchange of fluid between the compartments. Organ-to-organ contact is via a semipermeable membrane incorporated into the simulated blood flow.
In the last five years, IONTOX has worked with several collaborators to develop, test, and optimize the HuDMOP System. This state-of-art system has addressed many of the issues that have plagued other platforms. HuDMOP is physiologically correct, simple in construction, and affordable use.
