IONTOX Is Announced As A Semi-Finalist In The Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition

IONTOX is pleased to announce it has been selected as a semi-finalist in the 2015 Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition (AMIC).

As one of the largest business competitions in North America, AMIC will award more than $1 million in cash and in-kind rewards at the annual event taking place November 3-5, 2015. Technology start-ups at the prototype stage or beyond will pitch their businesses to Midwest and national venture investors to compete for a $500,000 Grand Prize and an additional $500,000 in prizes and in-kind awards.

“This is an exciting time for potential high-growth entrepreneurs and investments in Michigan,” said David Egner, executive director of the New Economy Initiative (NEI). “In just five years, we’ve helped to build a more diverse economy, created hundreds of valuable growth jobs, and provided entrepreneurs the resources and tools to drive innovation in Michigan.”

Since the competition’s inception in 2010, the semi-finalist and finalist companies have created more than 950 high-tech jobs. “As Detroit emerges from bankruptcy, Accelerate Michigan underscores the role entrepreneurs can have in its resurgence, having generated more than $204 million in follow-on funding,” said Lauren Bigelow, Executive Director of the competition. “We’re very proud of the impact that we’ve had on the broader tech entrepreneur community and expect innovation around the future of mobility to drive the Motor City into a new tech renaissance.”

Additional details regarding competition eligibility and participation can be found on the Accelerate Michigan website.
