In Vitro Dermal Systemic Toxicity

Determine dermal penetration, metabolism, and toxicity using human reconstructed skin models.

In Vitro Dermal Systemic Toxicity Service Details

Dermal systemic toxicity testing is designed to provide information on the health hazard likely to arise from short-term exposure to a test chemical by the dermal route. Human reconstructed skin models developed by MatTek, Corp or Skin Ethic are used by IONTOX. These skin models are incorporated into the IONTOX human dynamic organ platform (HuDMOP). The model links the human 3D skin tissues to human liver via a simulated blood system. This allows the user to determine dermal penetration, metabolism, and toxicity. In addition, the distribution of the test material to the liver and subsequent metabolism and toxicity can be evaluated.
